Description
Diltigesic Gel 30g treats anal fissures. It promotes healing and reduces the associated symptoms by increasing the blood flow to the lining of the anus.
The gel also promotes healing of fissures and provides pain relief. The gel is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Also ensure that you clean and dry the affected area and gently apply it over the affected area.
DILTIGESIC ORGANOGEL contains diltiazem which belongs to a group of medicines called calcium-channel blockers. It is used to promote healing and reduce the pain in anal fissure. An anal fissure is a small cut or tear that has occurred in the skin inside your anus. Symptoms may include severe and sharp pain, irritation and tenderness. Certain fissures may heal quickly, while others can take several months to heal.
- Local application of DILTIGESIC ORGANOGEL causes inhibition of extracellular calcium influx across the smooth muscle cell membranes present on the application site (anus). This reduced intracellular calcium concentrations will increase muscle relaxation and reduces pressure and increases blood flow to the area to allow healing to occur.
